Friends and Supporters

Dartford Warbler Bell Heather Gorse Thistle

Surrey Heath Borough Council have been supportive of our cause, in providing equipment and funding.

Natural England(previously known as English Nature) have been keen to protect the SSSI/SPA. They have brought the prosecutions against the offenders. English Nature’s application for Section 29 was supported by AGODC’s presentation of supporting evidence during the audience with Michael Meacher, the Minister of the Environment, which also raised awareness and government concern to third party damage to SSSI sites.

Surrey Police have regularly stopped offenders and gathered the relevant information for English Nature to prosecute.

BTCV to whom we are associated with is the UK’s largest practical conservation charity. Founded in 1959, they help over 130,000 volunteers take hands-on action each year to improve the rural and urban environment.

The Ministry of Defence

Defence Estates administrates the land for the Ministry of Defence. They have been actively supportive of our cause, including carrying out joint clear up exercises with us.

Thames Valley Police have been active in tackling third party damage, in particular illegal motorcycling for many years. They support us in our activities in this field.

The Forestry Commission support and work closely with the Heathland Conservation Society in trying to make the SPA a safer place for legitimate activities besides their land management programmes.

The Crown Estate also offer their support to make the heathland a safer place.

Other commercial businesses support us but prefer not to be named.
